FAFCE's President, Antoine Renard, was in Rome last week, where he intervened at the General Assembly of Forum delle Famiglie, the biggest Italian member of FAFCE, and presented to all members of Forum the work done by FAFCE at European institutions.
On Friday 18 November, Mr Renard was also invited by Gianluigi De Palo, Forum President, to attend the meeting of the Board of Forum: there he could take the floor adressing the Presidents of all regional Forum in Italy.
The following day, on Saturday 19 November, Mr Renard adressed the whole General Assembly of Forum: this was the first time for a President of FAFCE. In his presentation, Mr De Palo underlined that the Members of this General Assembly were representing all the main associations and movements working with families themselves or on the ground together with families and want to be represented in Europe: indeed, Forum delle Famiglie is one of the biggest FAFCE Members, gathering around 50 national associations of a big variety and 20 regional sections.
In his address, Mr Renard underlined the fact that FAFCE is present in the European Institutions in order to bring the voice of all of these associations, in order to bring the voice of real families, recalling policy-makers and European leaders the concrete needs of European families: "Europe is not an abstract concept, is not just a community of values - he said - Europe is a community of persons".
