FAFCE meeting with the EESC President, Henri Malosse

On the 1st of April, FAFCE’s Secretary General, Maria Hildingsson, met the President of the European Economic and Social Council (EESC), Henri Malosse. This French representative of the Business sector in the EESC since 1995, is since 2013 leading the most ancient European consultative body in a period of economic crisis and institutional transformations.

Children are entitled to special care and assistance according to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Press release | Contradictory EU Parliament Report affirms subsidiarity on "Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights"

Strasbourg, 10 March 2015

This morning the European Parliament voted the Annual report on the equality between women and men in the EU - 2013 presented by MEP Marc Tarabella.  This report has raised concerns among citizens across the EU regarding the issue of abortion which was included in the text although it is not an EU competence. More than 168 000 citizens have expressed their concerns through an online petition addressed to the Members of the European Parliament.

First European Interest Group WORK-LIFE BALANCE launched!

esa logo3rd March 2015 – On the very day when the European Day for a Work Free Sunday is celebrated across Europe, at the EU Parliament, and in the presence of MEPs from different political groups, the European Sunday Alliance launched the first European Interest Group on WORK-LIFE BALANCE.

What is good for the family is good for Europe!

Family moving forwardOn 23 January 2015, the Political Assembly of the European People’s Party gathered in Strasbourg adopted a Resolution on “Prospering families for a prosperous Europe or What is good for the family is good for Europe”.

With this resolution the EPP Political Assembly, constituted by delegate members of national political parties, made an important step in favour of European families, acknowledging that throughout the ages, the core of social wellbeing in European nations has been fuelled by a social order based on stable and lasting family bonds, consisting in stable and lasting marriages between a man and a woman oriented towards, and with responsibility for, their children”.
