FAFCE Internship Programme
(October 2020- February 2021)
The Federation of Catholic Family Associations in Europe is an umbrella organisation of family associations from all over Europe. Our General Secretariat is based in Brussels, Belgium. Founded in 1997, FAFCE has a participatory status with the Council of Europe and is a member of the Platform for Fundamental Rights of the European Union. Profile of the post:
The intern will support the Secretary General in the daily tasks of a representative office of a Federation, including:
- legislative monitoring of the EU-institutions and the Council of Europe: attending of Committee meetings and conferences; monitoring of reports; research work.
- support to the office management: attending and reporting from meetings; external communication (Website, social medias).
This internship is proposed in partnership with the European Leadership Programme (ELP), a five-months training programme, launched by the Jesuit European Social Centre (JESC), dedicated to develop leadership skills through high-level lectures and a solid community life. You need to first apply to FAFCE, and if you are selected, you will undergo the selection procedure of the ELP. You can find more information about the leadership programme here.
Length:
5 months: 1 October 2020 – 28 February 2021. Full time.
Academic requirements:
Master degree in Political Sciences, International Relations, Public Affairs, Law or Economics.
Language requirements:
Fluent English and at least another EU language (good command of both the spoken and written components – CEFR Level: C1 – Advanced). German is an asset.
Personal Commitment:
The successful candidate will share the core values of FAFCE, which are rooted in the social and moral teaching of the Roman Catholic Church.
Reference:
A letter of reference is required, which will confirm the adherence to the before mentioned values.
Place of employment:
Brussels, Belgium (FAFCE Office). On occasional basis, travels to Strasbourg or another European city may be requested.
Remuneration:
A financial contribution will be provided. Accomodation will be provided by the European Leadership Programme and partially covered.
