International Day of the Family
Families are the front line of the pandemic
Brussels, 14 May 2020
On the 6th of May 2020, FAFCE held its 2020 Spring Board Meeting via videoconference. 31 representatives of family associations from 18 European Countries gathered to discuss on the European demographic challenges, the Members’ activities and the emergency measures needed to support families in Europe. A Resolution was also adopted and is made public today (also available in French and German), on the occasion of the International Day of the Family: “Families: the front line in the pandemic”.
“Families offer an irreplaceable contribution in the current recovery from the global Covid-19 crisis. It is necessary to enable families to provide education, instruction and support via more equitable taxation systems and via family-friendly financial systems” stated Vincenzo Bassi, FAFCE President. “Family in development” is the topic this year of the International Day of the Family, as celebrated tomorrow by the United Nations.
FAFCE Members stay committed to support families all over Europe during the pandemic. Find some of our Members’ initiatives here.
